Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs

All-terrain stroller that is light durable, sturdy and provides excellent maneuverability. The compact fold using one hand makes it easy to transport. It also stands on its own when folded. The cushioned seat reclines to a nearly flat position, and there's a huge storage bin and canopy. The suitability for newborns is yes and with a separate carrycot (not suitable for sleep over).

A well-constructed suspension and air-filled tires will allow you navigate through rough terrain. It's also suitable for jogging but you must wait until your baby is six or nine months old to do this.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a brilliant option for parents looking for an easy-to-use buggy that has enhanced features. It comes as a travel system, which includes a lie-flat carrycot for newborns, a multi-position forward and rear facing pushchair seat as well as a choice of a group 0+ car seat, meaning you can get everything in one package.

The XL Air is a really impressive buggy and it's easy to see why it has received so many high marks from customers. It's incredibly light - both the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg - and it's also super-easy to construct. In fact, I was able to complete the entire setup and running in just five minutes, which is amazing considering that it also included the tying of the fabric to the carrycot!

The seat is large and comfortable for Annie, who is just 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to use. There's plenty of room inside the basket and I like the fact that it comes with a zip-up compartment in the handle bar so you can keep your keys and phone safe!

The only issue is that the handlebar is low, which can be a problem for taller parents. But, it's covered in a gorgeous leather-like material that's soft and comfy and wipes down easily, so it's still easy to push with bags and children on your hands!

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is designed for active parents who want to go out and explore. The large pneumatic wheels can be utilized on field and forest paths. The front wheel is lockable and can be swiveled to increase the flexibility. The stroller comes with 5-point safety harness with an adjustable front bar that will keep your child safe on all trips. The parking brake keeps the stroller on its feet as you take a break. The comfortable seat is simple to lower to a lying position and the canopy can be opened to allow netting for optimum air circulation on hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30 centimeters to accommodate dad or mum's heights.

The Runner will accompany you on any adventure whether it's a leisurely run, a more strenuous hike, or a long-distance walk. It comes with a lay-flat seat that has suspension air wheels to ensure a smooth ride. The front wheel can be locked for more stability on narrow streets or overcrowded sidewalks. The stroller can also fold in order to fit into car boot spaces or storage areas.

Some parents have reported that the Runner 2 to be a little more difficult to navigate than its predecessor and the locking system isn't as user-friendly (requiring two buttons on either side of the push bar). The handlebars are higher than those of some competitors, and therefore may not be suitable for shorter parents. However the stroller is durable and a lot of fun and is a good option for families with active children.

Red Kite Push Me pacing

The Pace is a great option from Red Kite, an affordable British brand that prides itself on making well-designed and no-fuss essentials for parenting. It's their latest and the most expensive addition to the stroller line that is a bargain and lightweight. Similar to the Ickle Bubba Aurora or Yoyo, it is car seat compatible so you can use it from the time of birth.

The new Pace boasts some fantastic design features, including the rose gold hue to the chassis, hood and stroller trims to really set it apart from its competition. The cream, grey, and tan fabrics in the stroller and the car seat are super stylish and there is the option of adding a co-ordinating leather cover handle and bumper bar, too.

The stroller seat can be used from birth to a maximum weight of 22kg. It can easily be converted to a two-in-one reversible position, either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat comes with multiple lie-back positions, soft padded leg rest support and comes with an extendable sun canopy featuring concealed zip sections, viewing through flaps and an retractable sun visor.

What's more, when it's folded it's Pace measures 56 33 x 43 x 32cm, which means it passes for hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among others. It's also simple to fold, thanks to two buttons on the handlebar's opposite side which just click in and pop up.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Designed to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair, Bugaboo's new Fox 5 promises to do everything. Its unique chassis has shorter wheel length which makes it easier to maneuver than its predecessor. I tested it with my two kids - an eight-week-old and a toddler - on rocky roads as well as grassy wooded paths and even cobblestones.

The large puncture-proof wheels - 22cm or 30cm in size they can be used on various terrains. They also have an easy flap that opens or closes to allow more air in should you need it and is a nice feature. It's a little larger than most pushchairs, yet does not feel heavy or bulky when you are pushing it over bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric can be washed by machine, and the faux leather grips and frame are easy to clean. It's also a lot quieter than many pushchairs and I felt comfortable using it on busy city streets. One of the advantages is that it incorporates accessory points. This means you can add footmuffs parasols, changing bags, and even a snack tray. The hood can be used to block rain and wind, but it's not waterproof. It's a single pram, however, you can also attach their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child a bit of leg room. It took around 20 minutes to set up the bassinet, and the same amount of time to convert it to the seat.

The Ridge's reversible seat allows you to decide whether your child will face you or the world that lies ahead and its easy foot brake system is easy for parents who are new. One of the best features is the reversible handlebar which allows you to adjust it to your height and preferences. The Ridge's fold, unlike many strollers, is stable and self-standing when folded.

iCandy Core

The new iCandy pushchair is packed with features that will impress parents. It features a Multi-Mode wheelbase and a revolutionary LED Visibility Hub Light, which is a first for the industry. It also comes with an integrated Ride-on Board which saves on future costs and makes it easy for a tired toddler to join you on family outings.

The Core is available as an entire travel system or as a single seat. It is compatible with the most popular car seats, including the ones from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It has the largest seat unit in the iCandy line, so you can use it to help your baby's start and beyond. It's a gorgeously designed pushchair that has premium knitted fabrics. The child's bumper bar and the parent's adjustable handlebar are made of soft leatherette. The fold-away calf supports is also very comfortable for children.

I was amazed by how easy it was to fold and collapse. It only requires one hand, even with the seat unit on. It fits easily in your hallway or boot, making it ideal for travelling. The iCandy Core comes with lots of extra accessories, such as a rucksack with a color match and a footmuff/liner.
